Moisture, Moisture, Moisture

Restoring and retaining the moisture levels of your hair is extremely important to its overall health. Just as with the skin, this process keeps your hair healthy and supple. In my opinion the easiest ways to retain and restore the moisture in your hair is through the use of a water based moisturiser.

As the name suggests, water based moisturisers are composed mainly of water and this is the first item in the ingredient list. This type of moisturiser usually has a very watery consistency and is usually dispensed by a pump or a spray mechanism. Some popular water based moisturisers are Wave Nouveau and S- Curl. I have found that these products are best used sparingly otherwise you will end up looking like a hot, greasy mess.

Wash Your Hair with a Moisturising Shampoo
Moisturising shampoos are those that will not strip your hair of its natural oils and leave it feel as dry as hay. These products do not contain the harsh detergents that in my opinion are more suitable for washing clothes. These products contain mild detergents and will not lather when you wash you hair with them.

Deep Conditioning
Deep conditioning is my favourite part of the washing process. It infuses the hair with so much moisture and leaves it feeling soft and supple. A deep conditioning treatment should be performed at least once weekly in order to relieve dry, stressed hair. Deep conditioning can be performed with or without. However, I prefer to deep condition with heat because it takes less time to complete the process. After deep conditioning you will see that your hair has regained all of its softness and shine.

I hope this was helpful.

Hugs,

Steph
