I know many of you have taken every fashionistas' advice and invested in a black blazer however I believe a white blazer is one of those staples that every girl should purchase in order to summer-rize her wardrobe. White blazers are easy to wear and have the ability to bring some freshness to your wardrobe.
To wear your white blazer casually, think of it almost as a replacement for a jean jacket by wearing it with day dresses, cargo pants, jeans, skirts, etc. At night your blazer can be worn with a body con dress or with a pencil skirt and a colourful top.

Ladies, what is your summer make up routine? Do you wear your usual layers of make up in the warmer months? Well, I certainly don't. When it's hot out side I usually stick to minimal, barely there makeup. I skip the heavy foundation and only wear a tinted moisturiser. However, the tinted moisturiser that I wear is my own recipe. It's cheap and it does the job brilliantly.
First I cover my undereye dark circles and any blemishes with concealer before I apply the tinted moisturiser. Then, on the back of my hand I mix a pea sized amount of my favourite moisturiser (Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser) with a pea sized of foundation (Revlon ColourStay Foundation), along with a dusting of bronzer to give me that glowing look. The look is then completed with a two coats of mascara and lipgloss.
My summer make up look is light and easy to wear all day and can be achieved in only five minutes.

Colour Me Bad
A little while ago I looked through my shoe closet and realised that I have been very conservative with my shoe colour choices. For some reason I have gravitated towards very neutral coloured shoes. How boring! It's time for me to inject several doses of colour into my shoe arsenal.
There are a few things that I have fallen in love with and I will gradually make them mine. Since I am trying to decrease my monthly shopping bill and promised that I will not go on anymore shopping binges, I will be adding these items to my wardrobe over a period time.
I know these are a neutral colour but they are just so damn cute.

Summer Hair Care
So summer is here and many of you will be spending a lot of time in the pool or at the beach. Although this is the time of year to have a little fun, hair care should not be neglected. Here are a few of my tips for ensuring that your hair makes it through the summer in good shape.
1. Switch to sulphate free shampoo. Sulphate containing shampoos can be very drying to the hair and can strip the hair of valuable moisture.Since you will be washing your hair more than usually you would not want to use a shampoo that is too harsh for your tresses.Examples of sulphate free shampoos are L'oreal Everpure, Pureology Hydrate Shampoo.
2. Use a leave- in conditioner very time you wash your hair. A leave in conditioner will help to smooth the cuticle and reduce frizz as well as maintains the moisture levels in your hair. Examples of good leave in conditioners are: Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave- in, Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 Miracle Worker, Nexxus Humectress.
3.Air dry as much as possible. Your hair will already take a beating from the incessant heat of the summer sun so there is therefore no need to dish out more punishment to your strands by constant blow drying.
4. Before going into the pool or the beach, saturate your hair from root to tip with conditioner. You may also saturate your hair with coconut oil before you go into the water. The coconut oil will penetrate the hair shaft and protect it from the chlorine and salt water.
If you follow these summer hair care tips your hair should make it through the summer in pretty good shape.

Online Finds
Who knew that acrylic nails make good jewelry. An artist by the name of Islay Taylor figured this out and has created a line of hand painted acrylic nails set in bezels. This is a totally unexpected use of an item that is not usually associated with jewelry however, I would like to see them in a one finger style. The nail designs are fun and funky and would certainly help to infuse some style into an outfit. Would you wear these acrylic nail rings? Tell me what you think.

Summer Wear
Summer is here and in the Caribbean that means its the season for sweltering heat, afternoons at the beach and for most; the official summer uniform of tank tops, cut off shorts and flip flops. However I like to deviate from the norm a little and I will be wearing a few things other than the official summer uniform.
These are the pieces that I am feeling this summer. You may notice that many of these pieces are throwbacks to the 80's but they are done in a tasteful, non-tacky manner.
Sheer Tops
Nautical Tops
Cross Body Bags

Spring Trends
What is up with this new trend of wearing fruit prints? I have seen this trend on the runways of many of the major fashion houses but I just can't get into it. What do you think? Will you be wearing fruit this summer?

Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14 in 1
For many years I have been a loyal fan of Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme Moisturiser, however for the last few weeks I have been disappointed with the state of my hair. Lately it has been feeling dry and I have been seeing little broken hairs on my clothes.
While browsing the isles of the beauty supply store I came across Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14 in 1.
I have decided to replace my old moisturiser with this product.i have heard good things about Hawaiian Silky from the ladies on the hair boards. This product claims to be a curl activator, moisturiser, datangler, softener and leave in conditioner amongst other things. Although this product contains mineral oil, it also contains some other great ingredients such as jojoba oil, nettle and rosemary extracts.
It has been a few days and so far I have no complaints. My hair feels soft and and smooth and I have noticed fewer broken hairs on my clothes. I will come back later with a more in depth review of this product.
Update
Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14 in 1 has replaced Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme Moisturiser as my new staple moisturiser. I am very impressed with the way in which this product effectively moisturises my hair.

I am officially on the hunt for a new protein deep conditioner to add to my weekly regimen. I have been using Africa's Best Hair Mayonnaise for a while now but I no longer achieve the results that I used to get with this product. I now believe that its time to switch up my hair regimen.
There are a few candidates that I have been checking out but I have not been able to make the final decision. I am considering Aphogee 2 minute Reconstructor, Mane and Tail Original Conditioner and Fantasia IC Reconstructor. I think that I will go with the Fantasia IC Reconstructor since I have tried this product in the past and received pretty good results.
When I finally make the change in my regimen I will do a complete review of the product that I chose as well as an update on my hair growth progress.

Update
I know that I have not posted in a few days but there has just been so much going on. However in the coming week I will aim to get back to my daily posting.
So finally my 70's plaid jacket just arrived and I am so excited. It is a few sizes to large but I will have it tailored to fit me. The jacket can be seen here. The neutral colour of this jacket allows me to pair it with just about anything.

Oil Cleansing Method
The Oil Cleansing Method is a natural way to clean your skin using oil. I know it might seem a little crazy to clean your face with oil, especially if you have oily skin but trust me this really works. When you use the oil cleansing method, the clean oil removes and replaces the dirty oil that is present in you pores, resulting in clear and smooth skin..
According to acne.org
“Oil dissolves oil. One of the most basic principals of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.” The best way to desolve a non-polar solvent like sebum/oil, is by using another non-polar solvent similar in composition: other oils. By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanicals, vegetables and fruit that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the OCM can clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by mild to moderate acne–while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturized.”
Oil Blend
One of the best oil blends that i have used thus far is a 50:50 mixture of castor oil and olive oil. Castor oil is great for removing impurities from the pores. Olive oil is an excellent moisturiser and a good skin nourisher.
I usually perform this procedure at night. It helps me to remove the day's makeup as well as any impurities in the pores. To perform this procedure

- Thoroughly mix your oil and pour a generous portion of it into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together to warm the oil slightly.
- Smooth the oil all over your face and begin massaging it into your pores by using a slow but firm circular motion. Do this for at least five minutes. You should take this time to relax.
- After you have saturated your skin with the oil, take your washcloth and wet it with hot water. What you want is for the water to be warm enough so that it can open up your pores and remove the oil.
- Place the washcloth on your face and keep it there until it is cool. Gently wipe the oil from your face and then rinse the washcloth in the water and place it on your face again until it cools. Repeat this process two or three more times taking care not to scrub your face, but to simply allow the hot washcloth to clean the oil away.

Loving....
Bright nail polish makes me feel like summer and lifts my mood.
This has definitely been the saving grace for my face lately. This facial cleanser has helped my to control breakouts on my acne prone skin.
Pink fresh water pearl earrings; a gift from a dear friend and I have been wearing them non stop. They have now become my new go to earrings because of their simple elegance.
My Guess Jungle Cat bag. I just rediscovered this bag and I forgot how much I love it.

Closet Envy
Can I have her closet? Who is she you might ask. Well this is Karla from Karla's Closet.
I just love her vintage aesthetic and I think the way that she puts together outfits is just brilliant. Enjoy.

Met Costume Gala 2011
The Metropolitan Institute Costume Gala brings out the heavy hitters in the entertainment industry. The gala is an opportunity for the stars to wear their most fashionable duds.
This year's gala was dedicated to the life and work of Alexander McQueen and was themed Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.
As usual there were many who got it right with their outfits such as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Taylor Swift who are on my best dressed list. However, I must ask what in the world was Dakota Fanning wearing?

Love the androgynous look by Freida Pinto!

Why did she choose this dress? The colour just washes her out.

Into the Wild
I have just purchased this leopard print jumper from one of my favourite places to do some cheap shopping online- Ebay. I picked this up for only $15.99 and I can't wait to show you how I styled it. I can't wait for it to arrive. I know it is a little unconventional but I love it.

Lazy Days
Its a holiday here today so this is my chance to dress down a bit. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures that were taken outside because the rain started to fall when I was about to leave the house.
Today is one of those lazy days so I decided to wear a pair of Ralph Lauren boyfriend jeans and a sweater that I purchased some years ago from Primark. This bag was purchased in Spain last year from Bershka and it has been my go to bag because its neutral colour goes with anything.

Trend Alert: Maxi Skirts
This season's silhouette is the long skirt. With the fickle nature of hemlines, mini skirts are now a thing of the past.. This change is great because this length works well on several body types and I am quite sure that many of you ladies will feel more comfortable with the increased coverage that these longer skirts offer.
I will dig out the maxi skirts from the back of my closet and dust them off so that they can be a part of my usual wardrobe rotation.
This is my take on the lower hemline trend.
I know I must be years late but I just realised that ASOS offers free international shipping! This is so great because we all can now take advantage of their great deals. For those of you who aren't familiar with ASOS, its an online British retailer that sells a huge variety of trendy and classic pieces at affordable prices.
I usually stalk their clearance section for the good deals, especially the £10 and under section. You can visit them here. Happy shopping!!

I am in love these YSL leather mules. I can picture hundreds of ways that I can incorporate these in my wardrobe. These babies will make your legs looks miles long and can be paired with most things.
These beauties are way out of my league so I have found this lower priced alternative from Guess.
I think these are a pretty good compromise
