How I Care for my Short Hair

Since I cut my hair my hair care regimen has not changed drastically but I have incorporated a few steps and new products.

Shampoo and Conditioners
I mix the Giovanni 50: 50 Balanced Hydrating- Calming Conditioner with Pantene Restoratives Conditioner because I do not like how my hair feels when I just use the Giovanni conditioner.

Protein Treatments
I usually do a light protein treatment once a week

Deep Conditioners
These are my favs!!

Leave Ins
I mold my hair into the shape that I will be wearing for the week with Olive Oil Wrap/Set Mousse before I go under the hooded drier.I really like this brand.
Others that I have tried previously make my hair dry and crispy.

Extras
L- R: Hot Oil Treratment, Wrap Strips, Hair Paste, Straightening Creme

To achieve this look I used the following polishes

L- R Nabi Nail Lacquer- Navy Blue, Klean Colour- Puppy Love, Santee- Beach Blue

New Stuff

Look what arrived this weekend! My red pants from eBay and black wedges from ASOS. I also purchased a new lipstick from NYX.

I wanted to purchase a pair of red pants for a little while but I just could find a pair that spoke to me. When I saw this pair of boot cut trousers on eBay I just had to get them. Can you believe I snagged these babies for only $5.99? I was really excited when I saw these because I love a good deal.

Although I purchased these pants in size 5 they are still a little too big for me but that is nothing that my tailor cannot fix. I cannot stress the importance of having a good tailor. In my opinion they are worth their weight in gold,

I came across these wedges on ASOS in their sale section and I picked them up because I believe that you can never have too many pairs of ankle boots. They are just so versatile.

I have also made another addition to my growing lipstick collection. This time I purchased a really unexpected colour called Opal. I was really surprised by this colour because it looks white in the tube but when you apply it to your lips it has a really nice pink/lavender colour.

I don't think this picture does justice to this beautiful colour.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Oil Cleansing Method Revisited

I first mentioned the Oil Cleansing Method way back in May, 2011. You can see the post here. This is a great method for naturally cleansing your face using a specific oil blend. Unfortunately I must report that I fell off the wagon for a little while. I stopped using this method and relied solely on traditional facial cleansers and boy did I see the difference in the way my face looked. My skin was no longer bright and radiant but looked dully and grey. Obviously I cannot walk around with a dull complexion so I have started to use the Oil Cleansing Method again.

This time my oil blend consists of 50% Olive Oil, 40% Castor Oil, 10% Coconut Oil and a few drops of Tea Tree Oil.

It has been two weeks since I started using this method again and I swear that my skin is looking better already. I even considered going to work without makeup one morning (lol) but that thought didn't go very far. This experience has taught me a very valuable lesson...... stick to what works. Even as unconventional as it may seem.
